1. Structural characteristics
The internal coil heat exchanger is mainly composed of shell, internal coil, tube sheet, head, inlet and outlet nozzles and other parts.

 

• Shell: Usually cylindrical, it provides accommodation space for the heat exchange medium and at the same time plays a role in supporting and protecting the internal coil.
• Internal coil: It is the core component of the heat exchanger. Generally made of metal pipes such as copper pipes and stainless steel pipes. The shape of the coil can be spiral, U-shaped or other forms to increase the heat exchange area and improve the heat exchange efficiency.
• Tube sheet: Used to fix the internal coil and separate the shell and the coil to prevent the mixing of two heat exchange media.
• Head: Installed at both ends of the shell to close the shell and at the same time provide connection points for the inlet and outlet nozzles.
• Inlet and outlet nozzles: Used to connect the inlet and outlet pipelines of hot and cold fluids respectively, so that the heat exchange medium can flow in and out of the heat exchanger smoothly.

 

2. Working principle
The working principle of the internal coil heat exchanger is to use two fluids of different temperatures to exchange heat inside and outside the coil. The hot fluid enters the internal coil through the inlet nozzle, transfers heat to the coil wall, and then flows out of the heat exchanger through the outlet nozzle. The cold fluid flows in the space between the shell and the coil and absorbs the heat transferred by the coil wall to realize the heat exchange process.
